Brightshore has long seen compelling value in sustainable development and management.
Sustainability
We have been integrating ESG considerations into our business model since we submitted our first assessment to GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) in 2012. GRESB has provided us with the initial framework to guide our business, and some of our funds have consistently received top scores in the annual surveys within their respective peer groups. Most recently in 2025, the GTIS Brazil Real Estate Fund I was recognized as the most sustainable private equity real estate investment fund in Latin America .
Among other credentials, Brightshore is a Green Lease Leader at the Gold level by the U.S. Department of Energy Better Buildings Alliance since 2021.
Neither Brightshore nor the funds it manages are considered to be ESG-focused. Notwithstanding the foregoing, as determined appropriate and in its sole discretion, Brightshore takes certain ESG-considerations into account in the selection, management and investment decisions related to portfolio investments; however, the type of considerations and the weight given to such considerations may vary from investment to investment and remains subject to Brightshore’s discretion, fund investment objectives/constraints and any underlying fiduciary duties. Any discussion of ESG issues or results contained on this website is subject to the foregoing limitations.
Real estate development by definition has a considerable impact on the environment, the local community and its integration with the surrounding area. It has become increasingly clear that ESG conscious policies are important not just for the wellbeing of various stakeholders affected by development projects, but also for asset and fund level performance. Evidence continues to accumulate that development projects can do well financially while simultaneously doing good by the environment and the surrounding community.
